Traffic Poles

With continued needs for Steel poles to replace existing Wood distribution poles, Continental Pole & Lighting has taken manufacturing steps to supply this market. Our Utility section includes a complete listing of steel pole equivalents for wood distribution poles.

As part of our ongoing effort to provide poles for every facet of the Utility market, we also manufacture Transmission and Communication poles in addition to poles for the Wind Power industry. Poles are designed and engineered to meet AASHTO specifications.

Effective Projected Area (EPA) is calculated using the wind velocity (mph) shown in addition to a 30% gust factor. The range of EPAs are calculated assuming a minimum of 25 lbs. to a maximum of 100 lbs. per square foot. Maximum EPA is based on the luminaire weight given. Note that increasing the luminaire weight will decrease the maximum EPA.
